Locations FAQ

Questions that are asked… frequently. Still stuck? Our team is on Discord 24/7.

Do some locations cost more?

No. Every location is the same price — we never charge location fees.

How is my ping measured?

Your browser sends a few small requests to a test server in each datacenter and times the round trip. The first request is ignored (it includes connection setup) and we show the median of the rest. In-game ping is usually very close.

What counts as a good ping for Minecraft?

Under 80ms feels instant, 80–160ms is perfectly playable for most survival and modded servers, and above 160ms you may notice delay in PvP. Pick the location closest to the majority of your players.

Can I host servers in more than one location?

Yes. With a Multiserver you can create servers in any of our locations from a single plan, and move resources between them whenever you like.

Is every location DDoS protected?

Yes. Always-on DDoS protection is included in every datacenter at no extra cost.
